NEW RELEASE: 'SURE TO LEAVE A MARK' by WORSE FOR WEAR

Brisbane's hottest addition to the pop-punk scene, Worse For Wear, have just dropped their debut album Sure To Leave A Mark, and with features on Triple J, The Alt Club, Post Punk Press, Wall of Sound and My Indie Australia, it's been a fun and wild ride up to release day.

Featuring vocalist Curtis Heinz, bassist Zac Heinz and drummer Clint Hillhouse, Worse For Wear have been making music together for seven years in the heart of Queensland, Australia, working tirelessly to hone their revered pop-punk sound. Their most recent single 'Friends' builds on the foundations laid by earlier singles that found a home on the album, including fan-favourites 'Don't Look Down', 'We Got This' and 'Happy'.

Produced, mixed and mastered by Nick Wilkinson, Sure To Leave A Mark is a record that has been in production for a long time coming. Having taken their time to craft a collection of songs that accurately represent the values and drive behind the band, My Indie Australia describes Worse For Wear's work as "...straight up heart-string plucking, feel-bad anthem that the likes of Balance and Composure or Basement would be proud".

Speaking on the trio's latest single 'Friends', Wall of Sound's Tamara May shares, "This pop punk trio out of Brisbane are definitely ones to watch as songs like ‘Friends’ feature some of the most melodic punk melodies and easy listening lyrics we’ve witnessed from an upcoming Australian act. The [music] video showcases scenes of the band playing live, which should entice you to add them to your live music bucket list (once lockdown ends of course). Having witnessed Worse For Wear live for the first time myself on Reside’s last visit to Queensland, I can assure you now these guys put on an epic live show that kinda reminds you of the USA's most prominent pop-punk scene upstarts State Champs and Real Friends."

Releasing their debut EP Empty Eyes in 2014, Worse For Wear immediately hit the East Coast of Australia, touring with Drawcard, Nerdlinger and Concrete Surfers. Subsequent USA College Radio play saw Worse For Wear reach LA for a promotional run, and after a sold out performance at their annual Seasick festival, more opportunities arose, seeing them play with Trash Boat, The Hard Aches and Windwaker. If there's one thing we know for sure, it's that these boys aren't slowing down anytime soon.

Worse For Wear's debut album Sure To Leave A Mark is out now and available everywhere.
