With the drop of their latest single just last week, hardcore outfit Novus want you to 'Reflect', describing their new track as 'a story of realisation and self-reflection'. Featuring vocalist Dean Ross-Swaver, guitarist Lach Prestage, bassist Zac James, and drummer Jon Prestage, this heavy Gold Coast quartet formed in 2016, dropping their first two-track release, A Lost World, that same year with the singles 'Ascendency' and 'Exitium'.
Following on from the momentum created by their first two tracks, Novus released their debut EP Solace (2019) which saw them reach new fans far and wide, becoming an underground staple in the Brisbane scene and pushing into interstate territory for the very first time. With influences from the likes of Parkway Drive, Architects, and In Hearts Wake, along with their push to become one of Brisbane's best, Novus shows a very promising future, and we can't wait to see what they come out with next.
Following the release of their single 'Hopeless' earlier this year, Jon sat with me to discuss the band's latest drop, 'Reflect', their upcoming EP, and a potential post-pandemic tour. Watch the full interview below.
