INTERVIEW: PRESSURE

Updated: Aug 29, 2020

Hailing in from Stockholm, Sweden, this melodic rock trio began their musical journey in 2018 by recording Swedish metal covers of international pop hits, from Sia's 'Chandelier' to Daft Punk's 'Get Lucky'. Featuring vocalist Olof Jönsson, alongside guitarists Simon Forsell and Emil Salling, the band decided upon the name 'Pressure' in an attempt to inspire others to overcome and embrace the daily pressures of existence, a theme frequently explored in their music.

After the release of their first original single in 2020, the band have distinguished themselves in the melodic rock scene through Jönsson's use of Scanian dialect and ambiguous lyrics, intentionally leaving the meaning of each song entirely up for audience interpretation. Following the release of their first two Swedish singles, 'Osårbar' and 'Ännu mer', the band's third and most recent piece was recorded in both their native Swedish language along with an English translation, titled 'The Shadow'. With an upcoming album in the works, featuring an English version of each song so as to resonate with the masses, I recently caught up with the band to discover just who Pressure are.
